When Castle hits a major writers block while working on his next Nikki Heat novel, he starts to re-evaluate his muse when friends suggest his partnership with the NYPD, and more importantly Beckett has run it’s course. Meanwhile, Beckett and her team investigate a string of random murders that may not be so random and more sinister then originally expected.

This story is a small vignette that I thought was missing from "Probable Causes." It takes place some time after Castle gets arrested and before Ryan tells Esposito "the secret." It came about because of a conversation I had with Dmarx on FanFiction, an excellent writer who humored me with my comments about this story.

This is a sequel to "If It's Not About the Books..." It's set at the end of Knockdown when Kate comes out of the prison. She needs someone to talk to, but who does she choose?

A one-shot inspired by the off-screen events of the episode entitled "3XK", specifically how Beckett figured out what happened to Ryan and Castle.  I'll admit, this isn't my best fan fic, but I did have fun writing about what thoughts went through Beckett's mind when she realized that Ryan and Castle (espcially Castle) were both in danger.
